Nearly two months into the school year, and our classrooms are engaged in many new activities. Our school has adopted new English/Language Arts curriculum. The third and fourth grade teachers are implementing Chromebooks and using a number of new and exciting educational apps, including keyboarding, Kahoot, and Accelerated Math. We've had some great speakers visit our campus, including Brent Poppen, paralympic bronze medalist.
On October 28, we will be having our first Lunch on the Lawn. Parents are invited to come hang out with their kids during their regular lunchtime.
I have gotten good feedback about our homework policy. I hope it has been beneficial for your family to have this extra time together. If you would like to talk with me about homework or anything else, Coffee with the Principal is a good opportunity to do so. The next coffee will be on November 7 at 8:15 in the conference room (111). The first five parents that come will receive a $10 gift certificate for our upcoming book fair. I hope you can make it.
